Opening Snapshot
Rajinikanth returns in a sprawling Lokesh Kanagaraj action thriller that bristles with swagger, nostalgia, and a stacked ensemble—but the film struggles to find focus in its own flashes.

Setup
Coolie is built on a simple premise with messy layers: Devaraj (Rajinikanth) runs a hostel for students when he discovers his friend’s death wasn’t natural. Tracking clues from a mysterious chair crematorium to a smuggling ring in Vizag pulls him into a web of crime that drags in shady politics, corrupt syndicates, and ghosts from his own past. Multiple timelines and a swamp of side plots promise intrigue, but the script often gets tangled in its own complexity.

Performances
Rajinikanth carries the film, radiating effortless charisma in every scene—even his quiet glances carry weight. Nagarjuna, as the villainous Simon, brings slick menace, while Soubin Shahir cuts through as a standout across the film’s many characters. Shruti Haasan grounds the emotional center credibly, and cameos from Upendra, Aamir Khan, and the rest of the extended cast offer flashes of energy—even if they feel shoehorned in just for impact.

Technical Aspects
Technically, Coolie scores high. Cinematographer Girish Gangadharan frames sweeping visuals of coastal towns and hot backdrops with care. Anirudh Ravichander’s score lifts action beats and infuses scenes with nostalgia. Production design is ambitious, and VFX is largely credible, though not always seamless. Editing hiccups show up with uneven pacing, especially in the first half, and musical numbers—while stylish—sometimes slow the narrative flow.

Strengths
The film’s greatest strength is its ability to tap into Rajinikanth’s legacy while still delivering the director’s signature stylings. Action sequences are big and punchy, ensemble moments enrich the narrative momentarily, and certain flashbacks (especially featuring Rajini and Sathyaraj) carry a genuine emotional resonance. The fan-service is intentional, bold, and often delightful.

Weaknesses
Yet, the story is overburdened. Numerous subplots compete for attention without being fleshed out, leaving the film feeling scattered. By the midpoint, the thrill giving way to exposition feels heavy, and the emotional undercurrents never settle in. Cameos, though notable, ring hollow rather than earned. In trying to service too much nostalgia and too many twists, the heart of the story is diluted.

Box Office Performance
Even amid criticism, Coolie powered ahead at the box office—rumored to have smashed advance ticket sales and set high opening marks. Strong opening day numbers across southern and pan-India markets reflected the magnetic pull of Rajinikanth and Lokesh’s brands, proving that marquee star power still packs theaters, regardless of content depth.

Analysis
Coolie is a visual feast masked in a detective cloak. It delivers moments of genuine cinematic punch, but it’s weighed down by too many moving parts. In comparison to Lokesh’s earlier lean thrillers, this feels overstuffed, trading emotional coherence for spectacle. Still, it underscores a key reality: Rajinikanth retains the rare power to elevate even the most fractured narratives. The film mirrors the current trend in Indian mass blockbusters—more is glamorous, but often at the cost of storytelling clarity.

Bottomline
Soaked in style and star power, Coolie dazzles the eye but leaves the heart unsettled—an overstuffed ride that entertains in parts yet fails to strike with full impact.

Final Verdict: A stylish mass entertainer that banks heavily on Rajinikanth’s aura but falters under its own weight.

Opening Snapshot War 2 arrives with sky-high expectations, thanks to the YRF Spy Universe, the return of Hrithik Roshan as Kabir, and Jr NTR’s much-hyped

Opening Snapshot

War 2 arrives with sky-high expectations, thanks to the YRF Spy Universe, the return of Hrithik Roshan as Kabir, and Jr NTR’s much-hyped Bollywood debut. Add Kiara Advani’s glamour and the grandeur of Aditya Chopra’s production, and the stage was set for fireworks. The result, however, is a film big on spectacle but hollow in its storytelling.

Setup

The story revolves around betrayal and loyalty within the world of espionage. Kabir, once R&AW’s prized agent, has now gone rogue, forcing the agency to send Agent Vikram, played by Jr NTR, to bring him down. What follows is a chase across continents, filled with betrayals, covert missions, and global cartel politics. While the premise sounds thrilling, the screenplay is riddled with clichés and fails to build suspense.

Performances

Hrithik Roshan once again proves why he’s tailor-made for stylish action roles. He commands every frame with effortless charisma, his stunt work sharp and his screen presence magnetic. Jr NTR, on the other hand, brings unbridled intensity and power, making his Hindi debut an impactful one. Their chemistry in confrontation scenes is easily the film’s highlight. Kiara Advani looks stunning but gets little scope beyond that. Anil Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana reprise their roles convincingly but are boxed into one-dimensional characters.

Technical Aspects

On the technical front, War 2 is ambitious. The cinematography captures exotic international locales with finesse, giving the film a glossy, global feel. The production values are massive, staging grand sequences across snow-capped mountains, urban skylines, and crowded markets. The action choreography is high-octane, with helicopter chases, bullet-train brawls, and explosive stunts. But VFX is inconsistent—sometimes breathtaking, sometimes distracting. Editing drags in the second half, with unnecessary flashbacks breaking momentum. The background score lacks impact, and songs are forgettable, which is surprising for a film of this stature.

Strengths

What works best for War 2 is the pairing of Hrithik and Jr NTR. Their combined star power carries the film even when the script falters. Action set pieces are mounted lavishly, delivering cinematic thrills on the big screen. The film’s international scale and stylish presentation make it visually appealing, especially for fans craving high-end spectacle.

Weaknesses

The biggest drawback lies in the writing. The screenplay feels predictable, the twists fail to surprise, and the emotional pull is missing. Characters are underdeveloped—most notably, Jr NTR’s role deserved far more depth. Kiara’s character is wasted, serving as little more than eye candy. The runtime, close to three hours, feels stretched, with pacing issues in the middle. Despite all the gloss, the soul of the film feels absent.

Box Office Performance

Criticism aside, War 2 has opened huge at the box office. Day 1 earned around ₹51.5 crore, with ₹29 crore from Hindi markets and ₹22 crore from Telugu. Independence Day pushed Day 2 to ₹56.5 crore, crossing ₹100 crore in just two days. By Day 3, the domestic tally reached ₹126 crore, while worldwide earnings touched an estimated ₹165 crore. These numbers cement it as one of the year’s fastest grossers, proving the magnetic draw of Hrithik and NTR despite mixed reviews.

Analysis

War 2 embodies the strengths and flaws of Bollywood’s current blockbuster model. It is undeniably grand, stylish, and packed with stars who can command audiences globally. Yet, it struggles to marry spectacle with substance. The first War (2019) had tighter writing and stronger emotional beats, making it resonate beyond its action. War 2, in contrast, feels more like a string of glossy set pieces tied together by a weak narrative thread. The Spy Universe is aiming high, but in trying to imitate Hollywood’s scale, it risks losing the emotional depth that connects with Indian audiences.

Bottomline

War 2 is a glossy spectacle fueled by Hrithik and Jr NTR’s charisma. It delivers high-octane action and global production values but falters in storytelling, music, and emotional resonance. Fans of the stars will leave satisfied by their stylish avatars, but as a spy thriller, it falls short of greatness.

Final Verdict: All flash, limited firepower—War 2 dazzles with style but remains a one-time watch.

For those of us who want to say thank you to our moms, it’s not always easy to put those big feelings in words. Which is where Dribbble comes in.

These eight shots crystallize the hard work moms put into keeping their kids alive, happy, and healthy. They might give you the inspiration you need for filling out that card—or stand alone for your mom’s interpretation.

Moms are the ones who bandage our boo-boos when we’re little and continue to take care of us as we get older—often sacrificing their own needs so they can help with ours. Cruising on a bike to help heal our injuries is the most mom thing one can do.

The refractor telescope uses a convex lens to focus the light on the eyepiece.

The reflector telescope has a concave lens which means it bends in. It uses mirrors to focus the image that you eventually see.

Collimation is a term for how well tuned the telescope is to give you a good clear image of what you are looking at. You want your telescope to have good collimation so you are not getting a false image of the celestial body.

Aperture is a fancy word for how big the lens of your telescope is. But it’s an important word because the aperture of the lens is the key to how powerful your telescope is. Magnification has nothing to do with it, its all in the aperture.

Focuser is the housing that keeps the eyepiece of the telescope, or what you will look through, in place. The focuser has to be stable and in good repair for you to have an image you can rely on.

Mount and Wedge. Both of these terms refer to the tripod your telescope sits on.
